In a continued effort to support education and empower the youth, Hon. Olusegun Odebunmi, the newly appointed Chairman of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, has sponsored the WAEC fees of selected students from selected secondary schools across Ogo-Oluwa and Surulere Local Government Areas.
The former member of the 7th, 8th, and 9th National Assembly representing Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency demonstrated his dedication to education by ensuring the financial burden of WAEC fees was lifted from parents in the constituency. The presentation ceremony, held at Iresaapa Community High School, Iresaapa, saw the Zonal Chairman of TESCOM, Ogbomosho Zone, distributing cheques of ₦50,000 each to the beneficiaries.Speaking during the event, the TESCOM Zonal Chairman praised Hon. Odebunmi for his unrelenting commitment to youth development and education, describing the gesture as a testament to his visionary leadership. Beneficiaries and their parents expressed heartfelt gratitude, noting that the intervention would make a significant impact on the students’ academic futures.
This initiative comes as Hon. Odebunmi begins his tenure as Chairman of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, a role that positions him to further contribute to regional development and public service.
