The Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Information, National orientation ethics and values, Hon Olusegun Odebunmi has called on Christians to use the Christmas period to pray for continuous peace and harmony among Nigerians in the country.
The Lawmaker who made the call in his Christmas message also urged Christians to pray for the country to overcome the myriad of challenges facing her, especially on issues of economy, insecurity and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr Odebunmi enjoined Nigerians from all endeavors to imbibe the teachings and exemplary lifestyle of Jesus Christ whom he described as the Prince of Peace.
He also stressed the need for Nigerians to use the Yuletide to pray for their leaders for God’s guidance and wisdom that would enable them deliver on the country’s mandate.
According to him, period like this calls for sober reflection, pointing out that Nigerians must be their brothers’ keepers at all times toward ensuring peace, unity and development.
