OKO TOWN, SURULERE LG STOOD STILL TO HONOUR HON SEGUN ODEBUNMI’S FACILITATED OGO-ILU 89.3 FM ON SAT 5TH DECEMBER 2020.
Apart from the fact that the three notable Obas in SURULERE LG Council of Oyo State honoured their illustrious son Hon Olusegun Odebunmi with MARKET FREE DAY in their domain on Saturday 5th December 2020, vide Orile Igbon, Oko and Iresaapa, they were equally present and represented at the COMMISSIONING OF OGO-ILU 89.3 FM.
Starting from the ORANMIYAN OF OKOLAND, Ọba Dr Solomon Olagoke Adisa Akinola, to Ọba Moses Olayiwola Ajiboye, The ARESAAPA OF IRESAAPA and the Chairman of SURULERE LG TRADITIONAL COUNCIL and OLUGBON OF ORILE IGBON, Oba Olusola Alao.
With all the Protocols over, The Director General of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria(FRCN), Dr Mansur D Liman urge OKO Town to see OGO-ILU 89.3 FM as their TREASURED PROJECT and guard it jealously as it is not very easy to ATTRACT FEDERAL PROJECT as SUCCESSFULLY FACILITATED by Hon Segun Odebunmi for OKO TOWN.
Retiring Zonal Director of FRCN, SW, Alhaji Mohammed Bello, who is Retiring on the 6th of December 2020, reiterated the importance of OGO-ILU 89.3 FM as a means of dissemination of News to the Grassroot especially in this era of social media where Lies and Falsehood is very rampant.
In his SPEECH, The FACILITATOR of the Project, Hon OLUSEGUN ODEBUNMI aka BUNVIC, said the Radio was facilitated to ensure effective dissemination of information from Government to the Governed.
He reiterated further that, it is also a means of Banishing Hate Speech and FAKE News that is threatening our UNITY and Peaceful coexistence.
Hon Segun Odebunmi canvass for Patronage, Listening audience, Facility protection and support for OGO-ILU 89.3 FM.
The Chairman of the PROJECT COMMISSIONING and the Honourable Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed expressed happiness for the Success of OGO-ILU 89.3 FM at OKO, SURULERE LG of Oyo State which is the CONSTITUENCY PROJECT of Hon Olusegun Odebunmi who is the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values.
Alhaji Lai Mohammed confirmed the TRAILBLAZING Station as being Commissioned with ONLINE GLOBAL REACH/NETWORK on www.lifelineenergy.org.
Alhaji Lai Mohammed highlighted the importance of RADIO as thus :
(1)Difference between harvest and hunger
(2)Confidence and humiliation
(3) Difference between Life and Death.
He reiterated further that, Radio deepens Democracy with Phone-in Programs.
Alh Lai Mohammed used the opportunity to challenge Nigeria Media to take the lead in TELLING NIGERIA STORY by informing the people about various projects of Government and their impact on the people
Alhaji Lai Mohammed said it is shameful that FOREIGN BROADCAST STATIONS arrogate the power to TELL OUR OWN STORY FOR US, which gives room for DISTORTION OF FACT as recently witnessed when CNN reported 38 unfounded Deaths in Lekki during recent ENDSARS CRISIS which they Backtracked from when CHALLENGED after 35 days to ONE.Alhaji Lai Mohammed CONGRATULATED Hon Olusegun Odebunmi and implore the people of OKO and its environs to take OWNERSHIP of the Radio station and GUARD it Jealously and ensure its VIABILITY.
